Who participates in the CEI project?

The Coaching in Early Intervention (CEI) team is working with select Planning Region Teams (PRTs) across the state of Nebraska to carry out the project. Planning Region Teams are organized groups of parents, advocates and representatives from school districts, agencies, educational service units, Head Start, and other relevant agencies or persons responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of the Early Intervention Act in each local community or region.

What does participation look like at each level of the CEI project?

Planning Region Team Leadership

The leadership team for each participating Planning Region Team provides:

  • Input for sustainability.
  • Guidance and direction.
  • Feedback on the coaching system, data collected and data use.

State-level Coaches

State-level coaches provide support to site-based coaches within each Planning Region Team. State-level coaches participate in:

  • Coach training and professional development.
  • Coaching support from a UNL master coach on implementing evidence-based coaching practices.
  • Providing coaching to site-based coaches who are working with early intervention personnel.
  • Providing feedback via surveys and interviews.

Site-based Coaches

Site-based coaches are locally based within a participating Planning Region Team and provide support to early intervention personnel. Site-based coaches participate in:

  • Coach training and professional development.
  • Coaching support from a state-level coach on implementing evidence-based coaching practices.
  • Providing coaching to early intervention personnel who are working with families.
  • Providing feedback via surveys and interviews.

Early Intervention Personnel

Early intervention personnel are locally based within a participating Planning Region Team. They include providers and services coordinators who conduct home visits with participating families. Early intervention personnel participate in:

  • Coaching support from a site-based coach on implementing evidence-based early intervention practices, including Getting Ready and Routines Based Interviews.
  • Gathering data on family and child outcomes.
  • Providing feedback via surveys and interviews.

Families

Participating families are receiving Part C services through the state of Nebraska and their local Planning Region Team. They receive home visits from early intervention personnel. Families participate in:

  • Providing feedback via surveys.
